Services in Church Suspended – a letter from Revd David

Following guidance from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York that ‘our usual pattern of Sunday services and other mid-week gatherings must be put on hold’, I am really sorry to say that there will be no Sunday services or other mid-week gatherings in our churches until further notice.

This does not mean that we are ‘shutting up shop’! The Church of Jesus Christ is the people, not the buildings, and so we will find new ways of being Church by supporting our communities and sharing the love of Jesus.

The church buildings themselves, in Walgrave, Hannington, Old and Scaldwell, will remain open for quiet prayer and reflection, as they normally are during the day, and we will endeavour to provide resources for people to use at these times.

We have a website for the benefice on which we plan to upload Church Services, a daily ‘Thought for the Day’ and other general updates.

Do visit our website www.walgravebenefice.org

I’ll finish with some words of Jesus:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
 (John 14:27)

God Bless
