War Memorial
After an absence of several months the War Memorial has been relocated on the Village Green. As many will be aware, the memorial was placed on the Green for the centenary of the Armistice in 2018 and was paid for by donations from villagers.

The War Memorial was originally placed at the well, where prayers were said during the Great War for the safe return of the many young men from Scaldwell who volunteered to fight for King and Country. However the well is now being refurbished so it was agreed to move the memorial to its new home.

Thanks are due to the Parish Council for agreeing to the new location on the Green and to the team who installed it. Also thanks are due to the blacksmith, Steve Moore, who put tremendous care into the new steel frame.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on the Green on Remembrance Sunday.
