About the Event
Burns Night Supper
Burns Night is celebrated on January 25th but in Scaldwell we like to get in early so for us it's the 24th January. The Night honours the life and works of the Scottish poet Robert Burns. A traditional Burns Night supper is a festive gathering that combines food, poetry, and music, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Traditional Food
The centerpiece of a Burns Night supper is the meal, which includes:
Haggis: A savoury pudding made from sheep's heart, liver, and lungs, mixed with oats, onions, and spices, traditionally served with neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes).
Scottish Whisky: A selection of fine Scotch whisky (or non-Scottish wine!) will be offered,
