Scaldwell Lights Up the Sky

Another great display from Scaldwell Club lit up the Playing Field on Saturday evening. The weather was kind; the rain stopped an hour before the gates opened and the wind speed and direction meant the display could proceed.

The team enthralled a crowd of around 200 people who gathered to watch the fireworks. There were plenty of "ooohs'' and "aaahs" as the rockets soared and then detonated to deliver a riot of colours.

In an attempt to reduce stress on animals the Club trialled "low-noise" fireworks this year - all we can say is that if they were the low-noise ones, we are wondering what the "extra bang" ones sound like!

Many thanks to the team who worked so hard to put on the show:

Firing Team: Dave, Tim and Darren, this year's "Rocket-Man"

Serving hot dogs, Glow sticks, soup and much more: Michelle, June and Noni

Bucket shake: Adele

Marshalling: Spyros

Running a very busy bar afterwards! Kirsty

And thanks also to Emre for the use of his field, Callum for the loan of the gazebos, and everyone who came to help clear up on Sunday morning!
